Problem

Clinics in low income areas need an easy way to keep track of patient and staff information while assisting doctors to manage their day to day tasks.

Solution

Create a management app with appointment booking, scheduling, and staff management. The tool will include appointment flexibility with Tele-communication integration tools and offer home visits.

Design Updates

Before starting this project, I met with the CEO who provided me with requirements based on the research she gathered from our target market. This product already had a MVP that was previously targeted towards pediatricians.

Through customer feedback and further market research our stakeholders learned that there was a larger market and the decision was made to target a wider range of healthcare providers. This lead to a redesign with the addition of new features.

I was assigned as the UI designer for this project to do a design refresh in addition to adding new features for the web and mobile app.

Add New Appointment Types

This update was made during the beginning of the COVID pandemic. We wanted to allow more flexibility for patients to set up doctor appointments in a time were people were less comfortable with leaving their homes. To help with this, we added the ability to make 3 different types of appointments. Telecommunication, home visits and office visits.

Icons and colored dot indicators were added to the interface to make it easier to scan through current and upcoming appointments. This also made it more convenient to see the upcoming appointment types in a given month to assist with planning.

Add Office Manager Role to View Doctor Appointments

A doctor selector was added to the sidebar navigation. This additional feature would allow office managers to switch between doctors and assist with their patient management.

Add Schedule and Availability Settings

This feature was added to help doctors set up their schedules to prevent appointments from being set outside of their office hours

Add New Patient

Another feature that was included was an intake form page for office managers to add new patients along with adding a patient caregiver.

Mobile App

A mobile app was built alongside the desktop version to allow for an easy way to check on upcoming appointments and view patient information.
